NIA Centre
Grand Rapids, Michigan
(In-Person | Full-Time I Open to Fractional ED)
Annual Salary: $50,000 | Includes Health, Dental, and Vision Benefits
About NIA Centre
NIA Centre is an African American Cultural Centre located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. We serve as a vibrant cultural hub where people from all racial and ethnic backgrounds gather to celebrate Black Excellence and recognize the contributions of the African American community.
Our mission is centered around three key pillars:

Position Summary
The Executive Director provides leadership for NIA Centre and leads the organization in advancing its mission, vision, and strategic goals. This role is responsible for program development & execution and community engagement. The individual would also be responsible for relationship development and work in collaboration with the fund development manager in support of the organization’s fundraising goals. We are seeking a results-oriented leader with some nonprofit experience and a deep commitment to serving the African American community.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership aligned with NIA Centre’s mission and values.
• Develop, implement, and oversee program areas: cultural arts, entrepreneurship, and health.
• Lead programming development and execution.
• Lead social media strategy and engagement.
• Cultivate relationships and engagement with volunteers and members.
• Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and key community stakeholders.
• Represent the organization through public speaking engagements and media opportunities.
• Foster a culture of inclusivity, creativity, and collaboration across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
• 3+ years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector.
• Experience in program development and execution experience.
• Must have an interest in working in a physical office environment (this is not a remote employment position).
• Applicants must reside within the city limits of Grand Rapids to be considered for the position and should provide proof of their local residency.
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $50,000 annually
