Garrett Fox

Member-at-Large

Garrett is a Grand Rapids native who understands the deficiency of cultural awareness that exists in our community. He is proud to be connected with an initiative that seeks to increase opportunities for learning about and learning from a community that has been historically marginalized.

“I hope to serve my family and my community by providing a space where all feel welcomed, challenged, uplifted, and encouraged. A space that both challenges social norms, and provides information and access to people who have been ignored, misrepresented, or deleted from the pages of history books. I desire to make our community better tomorrow than it was yesterday.”

VP of Sales at West Michigan Flocking, Garrett holds a BA in Management from Cornerstone University, a Masters in Ministry Leadership from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, and a Masters of Divinity from Apex Theological Seminary.

When not working or serving on the NIACentre board, Garrett remains community minded by volunteering and mentoring. He makes time for family time, and considers himself a foodie who loves to eat.

“If it falls to your lot to be a street sweeper, sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures, sweep streets like Beethoven composed music ... Sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry. Sweep streets so well that all the host of heaven and earth will have to pause and say: Here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well.” Martin Luther King Jr.
