Rev. Wayne Coleman

Committee ChaiR

Rev. Coleman serves as senior pastor at Millbrook CRC and is also owner of Coleman’s Shuttle Service LLC. He holds a Masters in Divinity.

Wayne’s wife, Ruth Coleman brought this vision with her from Holland, Michigan when they move to Grand Rapids three years ago.  Wayne joined the board to work towards making this vision a reality. His purpose is to lead the search for a location for the Centre that will serve the entire community. He hopes that NIA becomes a place where people from all ages and ethnicities can come learn about the African American culture through stories, life experiences and art.

When he has time to himself, Wayne enjoys family, sports, reading, and traveling seeing different places.

"Everybody can be great ... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
